I updated to a newer scanner. I did this over a year ago and started scanning away….
But that led to some new issues. There were a ton of photographs of postcards being hoarded on my computer without a name, description, or a home. It was a bit overwhelming to manage to process all these. So when new postcards came in, I just put them in the BOX.
When Shade became ill 🤒 the problem just became aggravated due to having even less time and space around the house. On top of the website that was just broken.
My love of postcards didn’t go away, but I stopped sending them. I stopped postcrossing, I stopped RAoC on Reddit. I stopped looking for postcards to send.
Every once in a while, I would be so depressed, I almost tossed out all my postcards… Not my family collection, but all the extras for my future pursuits as a vendor at PC shows. I almost gave up.
This year, I just let the website sit. I gave it a blank coming soon page and cried every time I worked on it on the back end. It was so difficult to see all my years of hard, joyful work just really gone. I’d start over, only to have to start over again and again and again. The themes & the plugins were really causing me issues. I’d try and get frustrated and leave it alone again.
A couple of things happened in between website rebuilding. I started a newsletter for postcard lovers. It’s call Postcard Whisperer. I was all a fever to get it started. I did great for a couple of months. However, my daughter’s health and my husband’s priorities with immigration put my postcards on the back shelf again.
Thing is… postcards are so part of my identity. I cannot leave them. My brothers know this. They spent the Summer of 2024 chasing their dreams of Sauntering along the AT. While they were out sauntering, these amazing postcards would pop up to share the journey. Every single time one arrived in the mail, it lit a fire to keep going.
Now we’re here, summer of 2025 a full 5 maybe 6 years since starting this project and no farther along than 2020. But I keep getting postcards in the mail.
Somehow, the NPCW club printed a roster that included my name and address. Tons of postcards came in. I posted them on Postcard Whisperer and will put them on a collection page here as well… someday🤣
So the last PCs that came for me on the top of the inbox were from my wonderful little brother. He is celebrating his 49th bday this week. He’s 10 1/2 years my junior. I watch him follow his dreams, and he sends me postcards to follow along. It’s a beautiful connection.
Here’s the latest ones he’s sent from his Spring/Summer Saunters of 2025. Enjoy, because I did. It’s the reason I keep trying to get this site going, to save & share a generation of postcards.

Thank you Tio K and Tita Sugar
