Postcards are more than just collecting for me
I also still enjoy sending and receiving postcards. Last summer, 2024, my brothers went Sauntering on the AT=Appalachian trail. They sent postcards from every town they stopped into to get supplies. Every town that had postcards…. Local Shop owners… get your postcards stocked up!
Part of the fun for them was meeting other hikers on the trail and the time walking together getting to know one another. Tio Phil was chatting about these humble postcard projects I have, with interest to one of the other hikers. He shared my PO Box and the rest is history.

Now, Their lovely greeting from the AT came last year during a very hard time of transition with my daughters’ diagnosis. I wasn’t able to work on the blog, or upload photos of my postcards. It was a ton of despair for me personally. So receiving this thoughtful card was something uplifting to enjoy personally, but I didn’t have the bandwidth to share it or even answer it. It sat in that process box that I shared with everyone about a couple of weeks ago.
It sat there with every intention of sharing on this blog & to return a card for this lovely AT couple who befriended my brothers.
Then this year, as I’ve found the room to simplify my postcard system, I had the opportunity to make a card for NPCW 2025, even though I sent them out late. I made my card and got those in the mail. I also sent out some of the extras from the printer to those I had been meaning to share postcards with all year. It felt so good to sit down and write a brief lil love note to those i’ve missed. A card went out to our AT couple too. I didn’t ask if I could share their socials or names yet, but I look forward to writing again.

It was such a joy to get these postcard popups in the mail as a surprise. I love my postcard pals 🫶
I’ll be sharing more about the NPCW swap too. Hope to see you soon!
