Getting caught up with the post

Taking the summer off to catch up with my postcrossing and collection proved to be very fruitful. Many new postcards have been acquired for the Florida & Southern California Collections. Plus, I’ve been learning how to live stream to share the new cards as they arrive. [The stream replay is viewable for 7 days before Twitch removes them automatically] Then the plan is to scan & share what has arrived for the week. This is where I’ve been getting behind. I mean I’ve been scanning like mad, but those have been the extra postcards to be listed on eBay & other shoppes.

It’s been a little overwhelming the enormity of the undertaking. So, while sorting through almost 3000 newly acquired cards, I’ve been listening to eBay resellers & book sellers for tips on productivity. Finding people close by who share this obsession for postcards, has been a necessity. Yet the Club I’m a part of only meets 3 times a year and over an hour away. I even completely forgot the dates for the last meeting and missed it entirely.

Having that YouTube Business conversation in my ears while sorting keeps me focused on how to move this hobby into a business. I have a tremendous amount of duplicate cards that I can share with others. More than I could ever personally use while postcrossing. Plus, my collection is vintage antique linen & chrome cards. They are not always preferred in the postcrossing community. It’s more modern, and they deserve new cards. Most of the collection is pre-owned and very aged. Some are so very old the paper is degrading rapidly. That may be my next learning experience, as in how to continue to preserve these cards so they will last another 100 years.

Enough talk, here are some beautiful cards that are still in the scan folder that are ripe to be shared. These are beautiful! They always bring such joy when I open the mailbox.

You can exchange postcards just like these came to me, from Goodreads The Postcard Exchange Group, Reddit’s Random Acts of Cards, PostFun App & Postcrossing, I also received the surprise from the National Post Card Week from the FB group. Plenty of Love from all over the place. Hope you’ll join us soon in your journey by postcard!
